The USDA has updated the plant hardiness map to adjust for the warmer winters brought by climate change.
Actually, it doesn’t have to do with climate change. It has to do with having a larger database from which to draw conclusions. The old zone map was based on only 13 years of data, while the new one is based on 30. Climate change is a phenomenon that is based on a much greater span of time than just 30 years.
